Hypermotivation (Dopamine Goddess)

Dopamine provides the Neurochemical Anticipation that "teases" animals and humans to "grasp and accomplish" whichever task "mother nature" has deemed evolutionarily valuable and necessary for them to complete. The "Intensity and Feeling" of the Dopamine Drive depends upon the amount of dopamine flooding the brain (striatum). The human dopamine experience ranges from extreme hypermotivation and intense libido to mild inspiration, dropping all the way to "mild feelings of well being" and "non-depression".
Stepping on a strongly electrified grid is highly aversive. A desperately hungry rat - even a rat who hasn't eaten for 10 days - won't run across an electrified cage-floor to reach a food-source: the shocks are too painful. But a rat with electrodes implanted in its neural reward circuitry will cross the grid, repeatedly, to gain the chance to self-stimulate its pleasure centers. Direct electrical stimulation of the mesolimbic dopamine system is so overpoweringly delightful that the anticipated reward eclipses the immediate pain.
If you unlock the logic and patterns of biological hypermotivation, you may very well unlock the code to intrinsic satisfaction and happiness. You will probably also have unlocked the key to getting a subject to do just about ANYTHING you want them to do . . . as long as there is a pre-programmed unconscious implant via habituation and prior brain washing.

Theoretically there is no end to the intensity of pleasure that can be experience via the mesolimbic reward center. Some argue that an infinite pleasure gradient is merely a cognitive illusion. Russell Wright's position is that infinite pleasure or "meta-pleasure" is a state that is reached by monks and mystics, and will be accessible to the ordinary citizen via a process called NeuroFreedom. There is also a strong possibility that such Meta-Pleasure states will become quite ordinary as our species abandons Motivation 2.0 and cooperates collectively within Motivation 3.0. The Positive Psychology movement is slowly moving research and implications towards this end. Cognitive Neuroscience is probably a faster route to verify the validy of the dopaminergic algorithm and any deductions made by observing hypermotivation in all species.
Wright also theorizes that there is a classified mathematical algorithm that defines the aforementioned pleasure-based quasi-mystical motivational drive, and he presumes that the proverbial "Heaven's Gate" is literally contained within the striatum. He also believes that "the mathematics of dopamine" has been codified in the work of Dr. Gregory Berns in his groundbreaking work at Emory University.
Cultural Myth: Dopamine as "Goddess" Metaphor:
Wright also likes to exchange the word "dopamine" for "Liquid Goddess" or "Liquid Anticipation" depending upon his student audience. Dopamine could be considered to be "liquid anticipation" and could be symbolized as the "carrot on the stick" represented by the anticipatory motivational power that dopamine has over all human behavior. In many traditions around the world, the concept of the "Goddess" is used as a metaphor for beauty, seduction, anticipation, desire, addiction, tradgedy, delight, and other desire-related emotions and drives. The anthropomorphisation of "anticipation" <dopamine> as feminine or as "goddess" is perhaps helpful as a cultural storytelling tool for Cultural Creatives. If nothing else, it remains an abstract within the context of Wright's personal mythology.
